Colts vs Titans

Its the most wonderful time of the year. If you are reading this preview, then let me congratulate you on making it to the playoffs in your fantasy football league. You have obviously been following the FFCHAMPS.com staff all year. Good for you. Now the key is to dominate the playoffs, and be the one collecting at the end of the season. Lets take a look at the first playoff game standing in the way of you and your championship.

There continues to be no true explanation for what is going on in Indianapolis. You can make the excuse for injuries all you want, but this goes above and beyond that. For the second straight week, Peyton manning has played in a game with four interceptions, two of which went for pick 6. For the first time in his career, Manning has thrown 11 interceptions in a three-week span. Four of those have been returned for scores, and he's thrown four picks in back-to-back weeks for the first time ever. What can you do though? Unless you have Rivers, Rodgers, or Vick as your backups, you are not benching Manning. Just the fact that we can even seriously mention this so deep into the season, shows you that there is concern. Here is reason to be excited though. The Titans are a team in disarray. Their defense has given up an average of 238 yards a game, and have given up 300 yards or more passing in five games. The Colts running game is non existent, so you know Manning is going to throw the ball. Many of those picks have been balls tipped from his receivers. It is a short week but you would like to think that something like this can not happen 3 weeks in a row to a quarterback like Manning. Reggie Wayne showed some glimpses of 2008 against the Cowboys, and Pierre Garcon found the end zone. Whether he likes it or not Jacob Tamme will continue to be one of Mannings more go to targets, and should definitely be a play of yours in the playoffs this week. One of this weeks the Colts running game will have to do something in order to open things up a little bit more for the passing game. So far they have been non existent, and that may be the main factor in why Manning has had a bit or a troubled stint the last few weeks.

What positives can be said about the Titans. It has gotten to the point where even Jeff Fisher isnt guaranteed to return next year. They only mustered six points last week and Kerry Collins could only put together 169 yards in the passing game with 2 interceptions. Even Chris Johnson barely contributed, hardly cracking the 50 rushing yards barrier. On the bright side, the Colts did have some trouble stopping the cowboys running game last week, so all of you who took Chris Johnson as your number 1 pick in order to lead you to the playoffs, should be rewarded this week by a performance much more fulfilling than last weeks. Johnson is ranked 2nd in this weeks FFCPI for running backs. As for those of you who took Randy Moss.....sorry?

GOOD START: Chris Johnson, Peyton Manning, Reggie Wayne, Pierre Garcon, Jacob Tamme,

MIDDLE OF THE ROAD:  Nate Washington, Randy Moss, Blair White,

BAD START: Kerry Collins, Javarris James, Bo Scaife, Jared Cook
