If you are still reading these previews, then let me congratulate you on either advancing or making your Fantasy playoffs. The real season starts now. If you are one of the true that still follow even after being eliminated, or just following for the purposes of winning those “side bet” games, then respect to you as well. Lets get right into it as the “semi-final” Week 15 kicks off Thursday night in San Diego.

Philip Rivers is averaging over 275 yards passing a game. The Man is a machine and he is ranked as the #2 Quarterback in this weeks FFCPI, only behind Peyton Manning. Thats not to bad, and in most drafts, those were 2 of the top 3 quarterbacks that were being looked at. Well this is why you picked him, and this is a week where he should surley pay dividends for you.

He has only thrown 3 touchdown passes in the last 3 games, but a date with a 49ers defense that has been shaky against the pass, should be good news for all Rivers owners. Gates is not playing so take that into consideration, and do not rely on the San Diego running game for much. Malcolm Floyd is questionable but the upside of what he can give is way to much to throw away. Keep a close eye on him before Thursday night.

The San Diego defense has the ability to take wide receivers completely out of ball games. They are allowing only 173 yards in the air per game, and less than 92 yards on the ground. Expect little this week from the passing attack of the 49ers, unless it comes from the quick looks to tight end Vernon Davis, who has a TD catch in six of his past seven games against AFC opponents. Injuries have also been a bit of a setback, as the running game becomes hot and cold week to week. Very tough to be confident in any 49ers fantasy prospects, especially at this point in your fantasy post-season run.

Good Start: Philip Rivers, Vernon Davis, Malcolm Floyd, Vincent Jackson

Middle Of The Road:Ryan Matthews, Mike Tolbert, Brian Westbrook, Anthony Dixon

Bad Start: Alex Smith, Antonio Gates, Josh Morgan
