Week 1 of the NFL season is in the books, and wow, was it nuts. Numerous record-breaking performances, plenty of fantasy heartbreak stories and a pro-Tebow chant later, we're here at Week 2. Once again, I'm going to make my picks against the spread, and point out a fantasy darkhorse for those of you in deeper leagues. They will also help you if you're dealing with injuries or looking to get creative. Let's get started. First and foremost, let's look at some of my good fantasy calls from last week, along with the bad calls.

Good Calls:
Ryan Fitzpatrick - Obviously put up huge numbers. I suspected he would air it out against the KC secondary, and did he ever. I expect them to keep throwing.
Nate Burleson - If not for a dropped pass in the redzone, it would of been a great day for Burleson. He should get better and better moving forward, and a solid #3 receiver from here on out.
Deji Karim - Good call not so much for his day on Sunday, but the encouraging signs. He'll get at least 60% of the carries MJD gets the entire year, and will be the go to back in the receiving game. For those of you with MJD, must have handcuff. Even those of you without MJD, he's a solid PPR flex play.
Ben Tate - Derrick Ward was named starter, but it's obvious Tate is the better back. Ran all over the Colts and if it was closer he would of come close to replicating last years Foster performance opening weekend.
Ed Dickson - Went out on a limb here, and it paid off. He was targeted quite often, and brought you a touchdown catch to boot. It was a tough weekend for tight end's, so those of you that played Dickson were all smiles.
Mike Tolbert - Huge day. Three touchdowns, almost double digit catches and all while splitting time. He was a top five fantasy player this weekend, and those of you that played him probably won.
Tim Hightower - Loved that he got 25 carries, and that should be the trend moving forward. Averaged under three yards a pop, but that will improve. He found the endzone, so there's not much to complain about.
Aaron Hernandez - Received the most targets Monday night, and I think he will receive the most targets more often than not this year. Great athlete, great hands; one heck of a tight end play. He found the endzone as well, another good play.
Kellen Winslow - Brought in a few catches for over 10 yards a pop, and was targeted often by Freeman. Encouraging signs moving forward.

Bad Calls:
Arizona Defense - I thought Cam would struggle. He didn't. Most people need to calm down though, he played a shaky secondary that looked lost at times, and still had some throws that left me scratching my head. Arizona blitzed him repeatedly, and it didn't work. More on Newton later, must read if you are thinking of picking him up.
Jonathan Stewart - He was terrible, as was DeAngelo Williams. Had a lot to do with Arizona blitzing so often, and making Newton put it in the air.
Daniel Thomas - He didn't play. Hopefully no one had him in their lineup. No word on how long the injury will keep him out.
James Jones - For the Packers making such a big deal about bringing him back, Jones barely saw the field. I knew the Green Bay slot receiver would have a huge day matched up against Pat Robinson and/or whatever linebacker they were matched against. Turns out it was Jordy Nelson manning the slot, not Jones. Oops.
Thomas Jones - They were trailing almost all day, thus rendering Jones useless.
Riley Cooper - He didn't really play a whole lot, really at all. It was Jason Avant that filled in here, and he did a fine job.

Now, on to the picks...

Oakland Raiders @ Buffalo Bills (-3.5)
The Bills looked good this weekend. While I don't think the Raiders looked bad, that was just an all-around ugly game. The crowd at Ralph will be rocking, and the Bills will feed off of that to put up big points against. The Raiders are a fine team, and I think Run DMC has another good game, I just don't see them being able to score with the Bills to be able to keep this within four points.
Raiders Darkhorse: Darius Heyward-Bey - The Raiders will be throwing it a lot in this game, not only due to playing catch-up, but to test the Buffalo secondary. Heyward-Bey should benefit the most from that.
Bills Darkhorse: CJ Spiller - I think they will get him more and more involved as the season goes, and I was really impressed with Fred Jackson last week. I just think Spiller will get 10-15 carries, take advantage of them, and be a big part in the passing game. Extra valuable in PPR leagues.

Chicago Bears @ New Orleans Saints (-7.5)
The Saints are going to come out and play well, really they have to. Hopefully Sean Payton swallows his pride and gets the ball to Pierre Thomas more often. Right now, Thomas is simply better than Mark Ingram, who I thought actually looked passive Thursday night, especially in short yardage situations. It can't be a direct result of not trusting his line, as it was their first game; that leads you to believe he simply isn't comfortable in the New Orleans system yet, or the pace of the NFL. For now, they need to get Thomas the ball. As for the Bears? I was impressed Sunday. I picked them to finish last in the North preseason, and I now believe they will finish third, with Minnesota finishing last. The offense looked capable at least, as a couple of their big plays came off of the broken coverage from the Falcons. I was much more impressed with their defense, which looked like Bear defenses of old. I still don't think it's near enough to get them back to the playoffs.
Bears Darkhorse: Devin Hester - I think he'll get a couple big catches, and I'm going to predict he houses a punt as well.
Saints Darkhorse: Devery Henderson - Marques Colston won't go, Lance Moore may not go, which leaves the coverage focusing on Robert Meachem. I even think up and coming tight end Jimmy Graham will get more attention than Henderson, he should have a big day.

Cleveland Browns @ Indianapolis Colts (+2.5)
I had high hopes for the Browns this season, but they looked horrendous on Sunday. Mental mistakes, physical mistakes and looked just plain out of sync. The Colts should have a bounce back game at home, and I think they will win this one. They have a tape to review with this unit, and they won't look as bad as they did again. I'm obviously standing by my 5-11 prediction for the Post-Manning Colts, but give me them this Sunday.
Browns Darkhorse: Brian Robiskie - The Colts have trouble with more physical receivers, and while Greg Little would be easier to put into this category, I don't think he'll see the necessary snaps. Give me Robiskie.
Colts Darkhorse: Joseph Addai - After a rough week last week, I think he'll have a solid week and should get 100+ yards and a score. Good start for a flex and even a RB2.

Kansas City Chiefs (+8.5) @ Detroit Lions
No way the Chiefs look as bad as last week, even with losing Eric Berry for the season. They should control the pace better than they did against Buffalo. The Lions are a good team, and I think they win this game, but I believe the Chiefs keep it within a touchdown.
Chiefs Darkhorse: Steve Breaston - There will be a lot of space in the middle of the field for him to work, and the Lions secondary and still a pretty big question mark.
Lions Darkhorse: Jahvid Best - Huge day Sunday. He'll have 85+ rushing yards, at least five or six catches and a score. Play him on Sunday.

Green Bay Packers (-10.5) @ Carolina Panthers
I promised more Newton talk, and here it is. The Cardinals blitzed him over and over, trying to test him. Cam prefers that. He doesn't have to think, he can find an open man, and then rely on this arm strength to complete the pass. The Packers? Well, they're a little smarter thant he Cardinals. Expect them to mix up coverages and confuse the young quarterback. Matthews off the edge and Raji up the middle is enough to keep his head on a swivel, throw in confusing coverage that befuddle the best of quaterbacks? Long day for Cam. Hold off on adding him to your fantasy rosters.
Packers Darkhorse: James Starks - He'll find the endzone at least once, and should rack up 60+  yards.
Panthers Darkhorse: Greg Olsen - Packers leave the middle of the field open at times, and tight ends take advantage. Olsen would be the panther I'd be most comfortable playing on Sunday.

Baltimore Ravens (-5.5) @ Tennesee Titans
The Ravens looked good last week, and the Titans did not. I belive CJ2K will continue to struggle, and how much are you willing to bet that they get a huge, almost flukish (not complaining, he's on my fantasy team) Britt play again? Take that play away, and just an ugly day offensively for the Titans. The Ravens will be too much, and should win this game by double digits. Almost made my layup of the week, but the other is too easy to pass up. You'll see it later.
Ravens Darkhorse: Lee Evans - I think we see a big play from him this Sunday, four catches and a score wouldn't surprise me.
Titans Darkhorse: Nate Washington - Not comfortable with this, but I have to pick somebody. They'll be playing catch up and he should get a handful of catches.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+3.5) @ Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings looked terrible last week, just really, really bad. I think they're in for a long season. They don't have anything outside of Peterson that scares me, and when defense can load eight in the box, he doesn't scare me a whole lot to be honest. The Bucs will come back strong, and will have too much offense for the Vikings. They'll win by at least four points.
Bucs Darkhorse: Arrelious Benn - Encouraging sign that he got seven targets last week, that should continue and I wouldn't be surprised to see him score.
Vikings Darkhorse: Kyle Rudolph - Why not? I'd rather pick nobody, but let's say he finds the endzone.

Jacksonville Jaguars @ New York Jets (-10.5)
I don't know what to make of the Jaguars, they got the win, but didn't look good doing it. I hate their quarterback situation, and really, who does he have to throw to? Mike Thomas? Just as mess in the AFC South, and I think the Jets win this handily.
Jags Darkhorse: Deji Karim - Going with him again. 50+ rushing yards, 50+ receiving yards and a score is not out of the question.
Jets Darkhorse: Derrick Mason - He'll have a good day in the slot, and I would be comfortable with him as a WR3 in deep leagues.

Arizona Cardinals (+4.5) @ Washington Redskins
Went back and forth on this one a few times, but give me the Cardinals. They'll air it out against Washington, and I'm betting against two straight capable Grossman performances. Again, not real comfortable about this one. I was hoping the Cardinals would look better against the Panthers, but what can you do.
Cardinals Darkhorse: Andre Roberts - He should have a good day starting opposite Fitzgerald. Comfortable as a WR3 in deep leagues.
Redskins Darkhorse: Fred Davis - I liked what I saw last week, even with the numbers not directly showing that. I'd bet he finds the endzone, and a handful of catches.

Seattle Seahawks @ Pittsburgh Steelers (-14.5)
Not much to say about this game. The Seahawks really struggle to score, and that's not good against Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh will win this by at least two scores, probably three or four.
Seahawks Darkhorse: Golden Tate - He could very well find the endzone again, especially is Sydney Rice is still out.
Steelers Darkhorse: Antonio Brown - Going with him again this week, I think he has a big day, with at least two big plays.

Dallas Cowboys (+2.5) @ San Francisco 49ers
My layup of the week! Please, anyone who will take this, run to them and take the Cowboys. They are going to win this game, and probably handily. I can't believe this line, I really can't. I had to check it with three different sources before even putting it on here. I have seen it as Cowboys -3, but for the majority I'm seeing tihs line. It blows my mind. The 49ers were in a dogfight with the Seahawks, and needed two special teams touchdown to put them away. Layup.
Cowboys Darkhorse: Cowboys Defense - All their offensive players will put up numbers, and their defense will join in this weekend too.
49ers Darkhorse: Braylon Edwards - Crabtree may not be out there again, and that's a lot of targets for Braylon. He'll have a good enough day.

Cincinnati Bengals @ Denver Broncos (-5.5)
The Bengals are still going to be really bad. The Broncos looked bad Monday night, but there were encouraging signs. They'll win this game by a touchdown. However, I will admit, this isn't a game I would be going out of my way to watch, could be a brutal three hours.
Bengals Darkhorse: Jerome Simpson - Will get a majority of the targets, and will have the best day of any Bengal outside of Benson.
Broncos Darkhorse: Daniel Fells - Liked what I saw from him, and it looks like they want him involved. Solid TE play.

Houston Texans @ Miami Dolphins (+2.5)
Give me the Dolphins to win this game. Their defense is better than what was showed Monday night, and their offense impressed me. Brandon Marshall is due for a big season, and Bush looked good enough to be an every down back. Arian Foster will probably play, as he is practicing as of Wednesday, but I still think Miami wins. Don't overract to Houston's Week 1 performance, remember last year? Remember, that was WITH Peyton.
Texans Darkhorse: Owen Daniels - Big day for Daniels. Miami struggles against the tight end, which you saw Monday night.
Dolphins Darkhorse: Davone Bess - He'll have a handful of catches and should score as well. WR3 in deeper leagues.

San Diego Chargers (+6.5) @ New England Patriots
I'm very excited about this game. Philip Rivers should have a huge day. If Chad Henne throws for 400 yards against New England, what will Rivers do? Even though the Dolphins were playing catch up, I expect the same thing happen to the Chargers. I think they keep it close, and this is the game I'm most excited for this weekend.
Chargers Darkhorse: Ryan Mathews - Mike Tolbert is banged up and should go, but I really like what I saw from Mathew. He looked good. Comfortable with him as a RB2 in deeper leagues, and a flex play in any.
Patriots Darkhorse: BenJarvus Green-Ellis - I think they run a bit more, and he should find the endzone again.

Philadelphia Eagles (-2.5) @ Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons have problems. They are correctable, yes, but problems none the less. They couldn't protect Ryan, the defense couldn't get a stop when needed and they struggled to stretch the field. That all spells big problems playing against this Eagles team. Vick will have a huge game in his return to Atlanta, and they win by at least a touchdown.
Eagles Darkhorse: Jeremy Maclin - He only had three targets last week, to Jackson's 12, but that will change as Atlanta will keep a man over the top against Jackson and Vick will be forced to hit Maclin on quicker routes.
Falcons Darkhorse: Jason Snelling - He'll play a solid role in the passing game, and he'll continue to get a good amount of goal line carries.

St. Louis Rams (+6.5) @ New York Giants
I'm going out on a limb here and saying the Rams beat the Giants outright. Really worried about the NY defense, and Bradford will be more comfortable this week. Amendola is obviously out, and I'm not sure if S-Jax is going to play, but I'm going to say they win regardless, as Cadalliac filled in fine last week. I'm also not sold that Hakeem Nicks will be ready to go.
Rams Darkhorse: Mike Sims-Walker - Highly disappointing week last week, but in true Sims-Walker fashion, he'll have a bounce back week. Comfortable as WR3 in any league.
Giants Darkhorse: Mario Manningham - Not necessarily a darkhorse, but with Nicks out, he'll have a monster night. WR1.(Check on Nicks status)

There it is. Enjoy Week 2, best of luck to everyone.

2011: 8-8
Layup Of The Week: 1-0
