Is Chad Ochocinco your #1 wide receiver?  Is Pierre Thomas your RB2?  Did you just pick up Curtis Painter off the Waiver Wire?  If you answered yes to any of these questions, then your fantasy football team is in a lot of trouble.  It’s time for a trade-- not just a little trade, but a big, blockbuster deal!

If you’re 0-4 (or 1-3 and looking bad) and have one of the following players, it’s time to send him packing.

Adrian Peterson: AP has played well so far this year, but he’s stuck on the league’s worst team.  Because of pre-draft expectations, his perceived value is higher than his actual value.  There are always a few fantasy football studs that can carry your team to victory any given week (Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, etc.) and this year AP’s not going to be one of them.

Arian Foster: Foster returns and has a monster game and now it’s time to trade him?  Yes.  Yes, it is.  Foster is an injury risk and, when Ben Tate returns (his injury doesn’t seem too severe) he’ll have earned carries based on his performance in Foster’s absence.  Andre Johnson’s injury increases Foster’s perceived value.  The truth, however, is that the Texans have been a running team so far this year already (running the ball 45% of the time) and that Johnson’s absence only hurts the offense as a whole.  Foster should have a good game against Oakland next week, but if you need to trade him, do so before he plays in Baltimore in two weeks.

Michael Turner: Turner is coming off of a game in which he had 70 yards rushing and two TDs.  Sell, sell, sell!  It took Turner 26 carries to get those numbers (2.7 YPC).  Two weeks ago, he averaged 1.8 yards per carry.  Unless you get bonus points for having a YPC average below 3.0 each week, trade him away.

Chris Johnson: You held CJ2K and waited, and waited, and waited, and he finally had a decent game.  Time to trade him.  The general consensus is that CJ is on the up-and-up.  The reality is, take away his 25-yard run and he averaged only 3.5 yards per carry in Week 4.  Plus, he’s still not getting any touchdowns.  If you want a Tennessee Titan on your team, go get Matt Hasselbeck.

Cam Newton and Steve Smith: Newton and Smith have put up some monster numbers in three of the first four weeks, but take a look at the pass defenses they did it against: the Cardinals, Bears, and Packers, who rank 26th, 29th, and 31st in pass defense respectively.  The one week in which Newton and Smith went up against an average pass D (the Jaguars, who are ranked 14th) Newton had 158 yards passing and Smith had just 15 yards receiving.

DeSean Jackson: If you love players that are completely unreliable, then Speedy D is the man for you!  His receiving totals for the year: 102, 21, 30, 171.  Just get rid of him now after he’s had one of his monster games and let him be another manager's headache.

Jermichael Finley: He’s on the Packers, so he should get a ton of points every week, right?  Wrong!  Aaron Rodgers had 408 yards passing on Sunday and Finley only got a measly 28 yards.  Rodgers also passed for four touchdowns.  How many did Finley have?  ZERO!  Many fantasy owners still greatly overrate Finley because of his high-scoring potential (which we saw Week 3).  The bottom line though is that he’s had one phenomenal game and three poor games so far this season.  And still, someone will be willing to give you too much for him.  Make the trade.
