Baltimore Ravens – 7, Jacksonville Jaguars – 12
What was it this week with the awful offensive performances in the NFL? 7 out of the 26 teams scored 7 points or less; that’s 27% if the NFL, folks. In this offensive stinker, both
Joe Flacco (137 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT) and
Blaine Gabbert (92 total yards) were mostly horrendous, and it was just a very late touchdown that salvaged at least a decent showing for Flacco. Luckily for Gabbert, he didn’t need to pass hardly at all to get his team a Monday Night Football win that was as ugly as it was unlikely.
Anquan Boldin’s (4-40, 1 TD) receiving day was saved by that late touchdown thrown by Flacco, and TE
Ed Dickson (4-23) managed to catch a handful of passes. No other receiver caught more than 3 passes for around 30 yards.
Ugly ugly ugly. With only 93 passing yards, there wasn’t much to expect from the Jags receivers.
Jason Hill (4-62) led the way with over 60 of those yards, and no other Jags receiver was even worth mentioning.
Speaking of ugly, that was theme of the day for almost everyone, including the normally dependable
Ray Rice (8 car., 28 yards; 5 rec., 35 yards). Rice was shackled for most of the game, and probably ended up losing more than a few fantasy games for owners who needed just a decent showing from him to secure a win.
Well, at least
Maurice Jones-Drew (30 car., 105 yards; 2 rec., -1 yards) managed to make sure this game wasn’t completely devoid of fantasy value, as he somehow managed to go over the century mark for rushing even though the Ravens stacked the box on almost every play. Jones-Drew is the only thing working on a consistent basis for the Jags and should be the only Jaguars player that fantasy owners should be playing. Outside of K
Josh Scobee that is, as he kicked not one, not two, but three 50+ field goals. Hello 50+ field goal scoring bonus!
