Injury Bug (noun)
1. An invisible bug that puts a curse on a player that results in harm, leading to missed playing time.
2. Something that Beanie Wells is bitten by every year.
3. The mortal enemy of every fantasy football team.

The Injury Bug was working overtime this week.
  • Darren McFadden sprained his foot.
  • Willis McGahee broke his hand.
  • Mark Ingram bruised his heel.
  • Tim Hightower tore his ACL (and is out for the year).
  • Beanie Wells suffered a knee injury.
  • Marshawn Lynch hurt his back in pregame warm-ups.
  • Joesph Addai tried to play, but aggravated his hamstring injury and had to leave the game.
  • LaDainian Tomlinson caught the flu.
Let’s hope running backs have better luck this week.  Time to calculate some RUNNING BACK RATINGS!

RUNNING BACK RATING =
(Average Rushing Yards Per Game + Average Receiving Yards Per Game + (Average TDs Per Game x 50) + (100 yd. games / games played x 50) + (Carries Previous Week x 2.5) + (Opponent's Average Rushing TDs Allowed Per Game x 20) + Opponent's Average Rush Yards Allowed Per Game) / 4

RUNNING BACK RATINGS: WEEK 8

90-100: GET READY FOR A MONSTER GAME
Any of these five players has the potential to single-handedly get you a win this week.

1. Adrian Peterson: 100

2. Fred Jackson: 100

3. LeSean McCoy: 92.4
McCoy has the third best rating despite the fact that the Eagles are playing the Cowboys, who have the league's #1 ranked rushing defense.

4. Ahmad Bradshaw: 90.8

5. Darren Sproles: 90.4
The Saints play the Rams, who give up an average of 183.8 yards on the ground each week (last in the NFL).

80-89: SOLID RB1s
You can expect good (possibly great) performances from the following players.

 6. Arian Foster: 89
A big week against the Jags, who took care of Ray Rice on Monday night, and he'll prove he's still
elite.

 7. Ray Rice: 88.7

8. Maurice Jones-Drew: 84.7

9. Ryan Mathews: 83

10. Daniel Thomas: 81

11. Frank Gore: 80.9

60-79: COULD GO EITHER WAY
RB2s

12. Mark Ingram*: 77

13. Pierre Thomas: 75.2
If Ingram doesn't play (and it seems like that's a strong possibility), Thomas could have a huge game against the Rams.

14. Chris Johnson: 71.8

15. DeMarco Murray: 70.2

16. Mike Tolbert: 70

17. BenJarvus Green-Ellis: 69.4

18. Ryan Torain: 62.8

19. Rashard Mendenhall: 61.7

50-59: DON’T EXPECT MUCH
These RBs are fine in the flex, but if one of them is in one of your running back spots, you probably aren’t in great shape at RB this week.

20. Montario Hardesty: 58.1
He had 33 carries last week, but he's going up against a very good 49ers defense.  Hardesty also has yet to find the end zone.

21. Marshawn Lynch*: 57.6

22. Jonathan Stewart: 57.1

23. Jackie Battle: 55.6

24. Delone Carter: 53.2

25. Joseph Addai*: 53

26. Knowshon Moreno: 51.1

LESS THAN 50: PROBABLY NOT A GOOD PLAY
I wouldn’t start either of these guys.

27. Peyton Hillis*: 49.8

28. DeAngelo Williams: 49.1
Jonathan Stewart is the running back to roll with in Carolina (if you have to choose one).

NOT ENOUGH DATA
Bernard Scott, Maurice Morris, and Alfonso Smith will all likely start this week, but none have had enough carries to provide sufficient data for the running back rating formula.
