Fantasy Football Week 9 Preview: Dolphins at Colts

Reggie Bush Miami: The Dolphins come off a thorough beat down of the NY Jets in New York that has most Jets fans clamoring for the Rex Ryan bandwagon exit.

Not like losing to the Dolphins is terrible considering they’ve been surprisingly good; however, the Dolphins crushed them so badly that it had to be demoralizing.

With the way the Colts are playing lately, don’t expect the Dolphins to walk all over them.

Ryan Tannehill was knocked out of Jets game with a quad injury, but he looks like he’ll be good to go this week. He’ll need to be on his game with Andrew Luck slinging the rock on the other side, and with the Colts ranked a surprising 7th against the pass, this likely won’t be as easy a task as most think.

Still, this should be one of the better games of the month for Brian Hartline, as the Dolphins will likely have to make more throws this week than they were forced to against the Jets. Where the Colts are weakest though is against the run, sporting a ranking of just 27th. Expect a good yardage game from Reggie Bush here, and the possibility of a ground score.

Good Start: RB Reggie Bush, WR Brian Hartline

Middle of the Road: QB Ryan Tannehill, WR Devone Bess

Bad Start: RB Daniel Thomas, TE Anthony Fasano

Indianapolis: The Colts got a big win over division rival Tennessee last week, owing the victory to a highlight reel leap to the pylon by Vick Ballard. This was a big win, but it was against the pillowy soft Titans defense, and now the much more stout Dolphins' defense comes to town.

Still, Andrew Luck is an excellent start here at home, as the Dolphins have been weaker against the pass, ranking just 27th and giving up 281 yards per game.

However, even though they give up a ton of yardage, the Dolphins have only given up 8 TDs in seven games. So Luck may end up with good yardage, but his overall stat line won’t be that great if he can’t get a TD or two through the air.

Where the Dolphins don’t give up much yardage at all is in the run game, as they still rank a solid 2nd in rush defense behind only the Chicago Bears. So with the Colts splitting the carries now between Donald Brown and Ballard, don’t expect much; nothing divided by 2 is, you guessed it, still nothing.

Good Start: WR Reggie Wayne

Middle of the Road: QB Andrew Luck, WR Donnie Avery, TE Dwayne Allen

Bad Start: RB Donald Brown, RB Vick Ballard, WR TY Hilton
