Peters Has Ruptured Achilles, Bad News For Eagles

It has been confirmed that left tackle Jason Peters did in fact suffer a ruptured Achilles during a workout, according to Geoff Mosher of the Wilmington News Journal.

This is a tough blow for the Eagles, as Peters is widely regarded as the best left tackle in the NFL, and quarterback Michael Vick will be more vulnerable to hits from the blind side if the NFC East club cannot effectively plug the hole. With Peters potentially done for the entire 2012 campaign, perhaps Philadelphia will now consider selecting an offensive tackle at pick No. 15 in April's Draft, such as Mike Adams (Ohio State). Or Zebrie Sanders (Florida State) is a nice option if they wait to the second round to address the pressing need.
