Chris Rainey Waived by Steelers

January 10 04:08 PM

Steelers rookie running back Chris Rainey was waived Thursday after he was arrested early Thursday morning in Gainesville, Fla. and charged with simple battery after allegedly slapping his girlfriend in the face. SOURCE: Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Fantasy Spin:
Rainey has been in trouble with the law several times over the last few years. He was accused of a felony stalking charge in 2010 and cited for defiant trespass in December when he entered the Meadows Racetrack and Casino outside Washington, Pa. Rainey had signed himself onto a self-exclusion list to prevent himself from gambling. The rookie out of Florida led Pittsburgh with 1,035 kick return yards but had just 26 carries and 14 receptions as a reserve running back.
