Josh Gordon Dealt Two-Game Suspension

June 07 05:40 PM

Browns receiver Josh Gordon has been suspended two games for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy, according to Tony Grossi of Gordon attributed his positive drug test to cough syrup that contained codeine, a substance the NFL prohibits.

Fantasy Spin:
He said he took the medicine when he had strep throat in February. Gordon has a history with drugs, as he was kicked off both the Baylor and Utah football teams for testing positive for marijuana. He entered the supplemental draft last summer and ended up catching 50 passes for 805 yards and five touchdowns. He's still expected to serve as Brandon Weeden's No. 1 receiver when he returns in Week 3.
