Danny Woodhead Likely To Serve as Third-Down Ace For Chargers

June 12 08:53 PM

Kevin Acee of the Union-Tribune said he'd be "shocked" if running back Danny Woodhead doesn't play the "vast majority" of third downs for the Chargers this season.

Fantasy Spin:
This comes after ESPN's AFC West blogger Bill Williamson said he expected Woodhead to be involved in a variety of offensive packages. The team does not trust Ryan Mathews as a pass blocker, which explains why Ronnie Brown received so much playing time last season. Woodhead is one of the best pass-blocking backs in the NFL, and also has good hands. He could be a nice flex player in PPR leagues.
