Slaton recovering from neck surgery

In an interview with The Score 1510 in Denver, Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said that running back Steve Slaton is still recovering from a surgical procedure performed in mid-January to repair nerve damage in his neck. The exact nature of Slaton's injury (and subsequent surgery) was not initially detailed to the media last month, but the condition is not believed to be career-threatening.

Fantasy Spin:
   Kubiak went on to say he felt the nerve damage probably played a role in Slaton's highly publicized case of fumble-itis in 2009, but that is likely just a general covering for one of his soldiers in the face of "civilian" scrutiny. The reality in Houston is that the Texans' feature back of the future is not currently on the roster. Look for the team to address the position this offseason, either through the draft or via free agency.
