February 07 04:12 PM According to ESPN's Sal Paolantonio, Indianapolis Colts' defensive end Dwight Freeney is expected to start in tonight's Super Bowl against the New Orleans Saints. Freeney arrived at Sun Life Stadium early this afternoon and immediately began receiving treatment on his injured ankle. Assuming he does not suffer any major setbacks in pre-game warm-ups, the Colts' leading sack-artist appears ready to contribute this evening, as he and his teammates attempt to bring a second championship home to Inidanapolis in the last four years. Considering the stage, it's no surprise that Freeney will gut it out tonight. His presence alone will likely provide a spiritual lift for Indy's defense, but that emotion will fade quickly if Freeney is unable to wreak his usual havoc on a bum ankle. His effectiveness (or lack thereof) could very well be a deciding factor in tonight's match-up of offensive juggernauts. |
